What's the point of leveling up?

Posted by mrty - March 5th, 2008

You know i am level 6 and i always wonder, why do i level up? What does it do?
(Of course i've read the FAQ, but i couldn't understand.)

It makes your voting power worth more. For an example, my vote is worth over twice as much as yours. And yours is worth four times more than a new user. Also, it's something to brag about, just like any MMORPG.

Thanks but i wonder what the voting power is, too! (So much questions in my mind!)

Haha, well when you vote on a submission, if you're not registered then it's counted as one vote. The more voting power, the more votes. So if you vote 5on a submission, on your current level, that would be like 5 new users voting 5. See what I mean?

Alright. Thanks. Just one more question: Why would i want to increase or decrease the score of a submission? I mean do i win anything, or just help people?

Well, if the submission is under judgment, the vote you give it helps determine whether it is blammed or saved (which can give you B/P points, further upping your vote power).

My vote power is currently 11.01---6.88 from experience, then boosted 60% by my B/P rank. Needless to say, you wield a lot of power at those levels.

Thanks. I think i can understand it now.
